Yoshino HSUEH

Born in Yuanlin, Changhua, Yoshino completed her graduate school education at the Graduate Institute of Orchestral Instruments at the Taipei National University of the Arts. Yoshino was blessed with the mentoring by many percussion teachers in her development. She is currently a member of the Punch Percussion Group, Taiwan Forum Music Ensemble, and Percussion Duo. She was invited to perform in the 2012 Trans Journey Future Media Festival by sharing the stage in a performance with the world renowned audiocinetic sculptor Herman Kolgen and the first lady Ms. Christine Mei-ching Chow. By the end of the same year, Yoshino took part in the award winning show, the “Lampoon”, in the Experimental Theater’s Music Dance of Young Stars New Vision program. In another event, the Forum Auditorium, she interacted on the spot with the famous American composer Cort Lippe during the performance, “Music for Hi-Hat and Computer”. After the show, Lippe commented: “I performed this piece with eighteen percussionists from different countries. She is the best one!” In 2013 at the National Experimental Theater, Yoshino was at the stage in the performances with new ideas: iOFloat & Jorinde Jankowski and Tribute to the Contemporary Epoch. She was invited as a guest percussionist at the 4th Digital Art Performance’s award winning show “Disillusion in Percussion and Technology Integrated Performance” in November. In March 2014, together with YG Lin the new generation choreographer, they were invited to perform with creative percussion. In the following month in May, Yoshino performed at the 8th Taipei International Percussion Convention at the National Concert Hall. In June of 2014, she was invited to perform at the percussion duo and dance at the Asian Young Musicians’ Connection. In recent year, Yoshino is tirelessly attempting out-of-the-box performance by including different domains.
Teaching Experience:
Percussion teacher at Taoyuan San Min Elementary School, Taoyuan Senior High School, Fu Dan Elementary School, Long Xing Junior High School, Ping-Jhen Junior High School, and Jen Ho Junior High School. Assistant conductor of the percussion group at Tainan University of Technology.
